How to answer a child regarding death?

My son is 8 yrs old and he might be a bit morbid or curious or both I don't know. He'll say things like we're going to die. What happens when we die ? Will be become ghosts? Does it hurt ? And he'll just burst out of nowhere and go I'm going to die I don't want to die. What should I do or say to him ?????
