Why are Muslims so badly educated on worldly events?

You had one encounter with a malicious Muslim woman and generalized her rant to every member of the religion? Muslims, like the rest of us, come with different IQs, different worldviews and different levels of education. Depending on the "flavor" of Islam they practice, some (the Wahhabis) are hard-line fundamentalists and some, like the Suffis, are spiritual and almost ethereal. Some Muslims are very parochial - they are old fashioned, have limited educations and live in very small worlds - but you could say this about some Christians and Jews, too.
