As a singer, should I worry about a Perforated Eardrum?

I've had 3 surgeries to repair a perforated ear drum, mine was due to a public swimming pool and the amount of chemicals in it. Typically a perforated ear drum repairs itself. As far as a olive oil I haven't heard that ever. Keep your ear dry buy using an ear plug or vasoline on the end of a cotton ball when you shower that will help. It will heal up just like skin seeing as that is what your ear drum is. Hope this helps, and remember to keep it dry at least until it heals.
