Ecg report..............!!?

can anyone please tell me what Information can we get from ones ECG report?!! my father visited the doctor for mild left side chest pain. after ECG the doctor asked him for a angiography. after that he told us there is no cardiac problem found. so what was the problem in ECG report for which they asked for angiogram?
