I cant figure out what this is...?

okayy our kiddie pool turned green and we cleaned it out so like there were these red worm like things theyre reall little theyre only like an inch or so long, my biology teacher said she doesnt think theyre misquito larve its crazyy i live in east texas if that helps ...any ideas?
