Important question about ferrets!?

So, i was planning on to see my g-ma this summer.. possibly in june.. and she wants me to bring my ferret but my dad says it'll die cause of changing its enivirment to quickly, is it true? i live in tennessee and if i take it to Gorgia .. will it affect it? cause i once did have a sugar glider and it died for no reason .. i fed and watered it .. and i was thinking it might have been the invirement to. idk so what do you think
